Most today's modern TVs and even some media devices support the UPnP protocol, meaning that they can read all the media files shared over a network. I am talking about music, video and image files that can be displayed and run using many devices. But for this to work, the computer who shares all these media files should have a special software installed on it, for making it act as a Media Server. Unfortunately, a lot of computer users don't know how to install and use such an application because of the large number of settings that should be made. But, fortunately for them, there is an application intuitive enough to be used by anyone.

I am talking about Wild Media Server, a media server application designed for Windows, that can be installed and configured in the most intuitive way possible. Thus, anyone, no matter the computer experience level, can share his media files over the network, to compatible devices.

Because it's a Windows application, Wild Media Server has a Windows-like installation wizard, which can be completed just by pressing the mouse button a couple of times. Using the interface is as easy as installing the software. Following the step by step wizard is all that takes to get all the media files shared over the network.

Wild Media Server can automatically scan all the media files stored on the user's computer and can automatically share them. Thus, the only thing one should worry about is giving the media server a name and then viewing those media files. The software is compatible with virtually any device that supports the UPnP protocol or DLNA, for example, Apple TV, WDTV Live and so on. The options section of the software allows a more thorough configuring of its settings, but this should only be done by advanced users, because some of the settings require some network knowledge.

Pros

It allows sharing all the user's media files over the network, to virtually any UPnP or DLNA-compatible media device, like Apple TV or WDTV Live. Besides that, the step by step wizard allows anyone to configure the program's functionality. Furthermore, media files can be automatically added to the program. What's more, there is an options section available, which allows advanced users to configure the program more deeply.

Cons

Some options require having some network knowledge and, as such, may take more time to be understood by beginners. Wild Media Server is the perfect solution for sharing any media file over the network, to almost any media device.
